Jason Corace, a media artist and educator whose work and research is focused on the exploration of interactive design, data visualization and game design, will be joining the Interaction Design and Art department this fall, having been hired as the finalist in a national search last spring. He holds an MFA from the Parsons School of Design, New York, NY, and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Prior to coming to MICA Jason taught in the CDT department for the past five years at Parsons, where he taught courses in the Design and Technology program. He also served as a partner in a collaborative design studio named Double Triple. Jason worked as an adjunct faculty between 2007 and 2009 at New York University, where he taught courses in OS specific Game Programming and Game Design Strategy.
Currently, Jason is a partner in a mix media design studio that works in web, video, print and identity design, check out http//www.doubletriple.net if interested. He was also a Senior Information Designer at the Parsons Institute of Information Mapping, where he worked with a group researching, designing and building data visualization applications for such clients as the NY/NJ Port Authority, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and the DNC. Between 2004-2005 Jason was a consultant/designer for Kirshenbaum Bond, working on a part time basis he created interactive campaigns and pitches for their clients. They worked with such brands as NetJets, Victoria's Secret and BeachNut. Finally, he also has been a producer for Gvox Software, where he created development plans, developed content designs and oversaw project completion for their interactive music education's products.
