MICA.edu is one of the College's most important media in communicating with the public. It is often the first point of contact many people have with MICA. The Web Team is responsible for maintaining the integrity of MICA.edu and for supporting the College's many Web content contributers.

We are here to help you:

  • If you do not have a content management system (CMS) user account:
  • If you have a CMS user account:
    • Log in to MICA's CMS and navigate to the page(s) you want to update;
    • Make your desired updates (referring to our CMS Guides and Resources or Contact Us if you need help); and
    • When you're finished with your edits, advance the page in workflow to a website administrator.


Normal turn-around time to publish a page or pages to the website is 1 (one) business day. If you need a quicker response, please contact a member of the Web team.

Improved Search Results

The in-site search function on MICA.edu is powered by a Google Search Appliance (GSA), maintained by our content management system vendor. The GSA crawls MICA.edu pages in the same way Google.com crawls the entire World Wide Web. It returns results based on its own algorhythms. We can, however specify which results should appear at the top of the search results page. If you find that a MICA.edu search doesn't produce an expected, reasonable list of results, please contact us so that we can improve the GSA.

Example: Search results for "plagiarism" didn't produce the most relevant pages towards the top of the results page. This issue was brought to our attention and we were able to specify that MICA's two policy pages related to plagiarism should appear at the top of the results list.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get access to the CMS?

CMS access is granted with respect to MICA's operational needs and the appropriateness of individual positions at MICA. If you don't already have access to the CMS, you will need to schedule one-on-one training with a member of the Web & Electronic Communications team prior to being given access.

What are my login and password for MICA's content management system (CMS)?

Your CMS login and password are the same you use to access many othe MICA online resources, e.g. your MICA e-mail. Your CMS login is what appears before @mica.edu, usually your first initial and last name.

What are the correct settings for Page View in the CMS?
