BALTIMORE--MICA's campuswide 2009 Commencement Exhibition, which opens Friday, May 15 and continues through Monday, May 18, highlights works by nearly 400 emerging artists in the undergraduate class of 2009. By transforming the College's permanent galleries, hallways, classrooms, and open spaces into one expansive gallery space, each student is able to show a substantial body of work.
Experimental animation screenings take place Friday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in Falvey Hall of Brown Center, 1301 W. Mount Royal Ave. Senior video screenings take place Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m. in Falvey Hall. A campuswide reception takes place Sunday, May 17, 1:30- 5 p.m.
Programs of study include: animation; art history, theory, and criticism; ceramics; drawing; environmental design; fiber; general fine arts; graphic design; illustration; interaction design and art; interdisciplinary sculpture; painting; photography; printmaking; video and film arts.
Special gallery hours for the 2009 Commencement Exhibition are Friday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday-Monday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. MICA's galleries are free and open to the public.

Founded in 1826, MICA is among the top visual arts colleges in the nation. It enrolls 1,714 undergraduate and 218 graduate students from 48 states and 52 foreign countries, offering programs of study leading to the bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.), master of arts (M.A.), and master of fine arts (M.F.A.) degrees. It also offers post-baccalaureate certificate programs and a full slate of credit and noncredit courses for adults, college-bound students, and children.
