This weekend seminar is an intensive, hands-on workshop covering tips and techniques to develop basic skills for creating and publishing professional websites using Dreamweaver. Topics include setting up a site, wireframes & information architecture, HTML basics, SEO (search engine optimization) basics, page layout, hyperlinks and other techniques related to designing and producing basic websites. Students are required to bring a USB or Flash drive to class. Prerequisite: basic computer experience.importing imagery and establishing links.

This weekend seminar is an intensive, hands-on workshop covering tips and techniques to develop intermediate skills for creating and publishing professional websites using Dreamweaver. Topics include cascading style sheets (CSS), form design, SEO (search engine optimization) strategies, Dreamweaver Smart Objects and other techniques related to designing and producing contemporary websites. Note: Students are required to bring a USB or Flash drive to class. Prerequisite: NCGD 126A Dreamweaver I or equivalent experience.

Section A Meets 6/15/2013 to 6/16/2013 on Saturday,Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This seminar will be a basic introduction to WordPress. Students will learn how to set up a basic website or blog using this easily accessed and popular software. Subjects covered will be the basics of the Dashboard, getting Hosting, WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org, troubleshooting, Themes, Plugins and creating your own installation of a WordPress assignment over the weekend.

Section A Meets 6/8/2013 to 6/9/2013 on Saturday,Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Typography Boot Camp will look at current trends in typography and will explore how todayâ€™s trends relate to the past. Two assignments per day will be executed in class and discussed after daily lectures. They will consist of one smaller, â€œquick fireâ€ project and one longer, more meaningful assignment, both followed by critiques. This intensive typography seminar will also study type hierarchy in publicationsâ€” both print and digital, as well as infographics. Note: Students must be able to work in InDesign.

Intro to HTML5, CSS and Javascript Weekend Seminar is an intensive hands-on course teaching students the skills needed to create modern Web sites. This class will examine the elements of HTML5 mark-up, designing with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and some of the new JavaScript features used with HTML5. Topics include audio, video, geolocation, drawing in the browser, offline storage , as well as the JavaScript jQuery library and current trends in Web design. Note: Students are required to bring a USB or Flash drive to class and have basic Apple computer skills.
