2012 Summer Travel Intensives
MICA administers an expansive offering of international & off-campus study. The MICA Summer Travel Intensives are open to undergraduate and graduate students and life-long learners at least 18 years of age who have completed at least one year of college study. Serious students travel with MICA faculty to places of great aesthetic & historical resonance and to the centers of contemporary art and design to earn undergraduate- or graduate-level college credit, enhance their art-making, and connect with art and other artists through MICA's Summer Travel Intensives.
2012 SUMMER TRAVEL INTENSIVES include the following destinations and curriculae:
Esteli & Limay, Nicaragua: Community Arts (General Fine Arts) or Documentary Video (3 credits)*
Turkey: Fiber or 3D Studio Elective (3 credits)*
Cetamura, Italy: Art History and Archaeology ( Art History and General Fine Arts) (6 credits)
Sorrento, Italy: Painting (3 credits)*
Seoul, South Korea: Interdisciplinary Sculpture (3 credits)*
Sao Tome and Principe: Illustration (3 credits)*
Berlin, Germany: Art History (3credits)***
Greece: 10-day Artist Teacher Workshop, Art Education (3 credits)**
New York, NY: General Fine Arts (3 credits)
*Students can choose to earn 3 additional credits in art history
**Students earn graduate level credits and also have the option to earn 3 additional credits in art history
***Students can choose to earn 3 additional credits in humanistic studies.
