was born in Peekskill, N.Y., studied at the School of Visual
Arts, and, after being exposed to underground comics, plunged into cartooning.
In the early 1980s, Bagge co-published three issues of Comical Funnies,
a New York-based comic tabloid which debuted his dysfunctional suburban
family, the Bradleys. Bagge then started his own comic book, Neat Stuff.
In 1990, Neat Stuff evolved into a new title, Hate, which followed the
foibles of misanthropic and semi-autobiographicalBuddy Bradley. Bagge's
illustrations have also appeared on record and CD covers, and his comics
have been featured in political and social commentary magazines.
