Samantha Gainsburg

“I have noticed that maps and the process of mapping is everywhere—both in the art world and outside of the art world.”

Samantha Gainsburg is a sophomore general fine arts major and art history minor from Baltimore, Maryland. Samantha likes to work with a variety of mediums, but is particularly interested in fiber. In her work, she focuses on light and color. Samantha has worked with the MICA Community Arts Partnership (CAP) to give art lessons to third grader students at Eutaw-Marshburn Elementary. In addition, Samantha works with non-profit organizations Invisible Children and School 33 Art Center where she completed an internship. Currently, she works at a children’s hospital in Mount Washington. In the future, Samantha plans to study abroad and is interested in pursuing graduate school for museum or curatorial studies.
