Exhibition Development Seminar: Education
Imen Djouini
“I always found it fascinating that there is no such thing as an accurate depiction of space. That’s why we can never fully accept any map to be accurate.”
Imen Djouini is a junior painting and art history major born in Algeria, Africa. Moving to the United States when she was 8, Imen developed an interest in the investigation of one’s placement and displacement in space. While studying at MICA, she has felt an important influence from the community of artists, giving her room to grow as a painter. Imen is an avid reader and incorporates her academic interests into her work. She sold paintings to Georgetown University’s chief financial officer and was commissioned to produce photographs for the Maryland Gaithersburg Historical Society. Additionally, she has exhibited at Picasso Gallery and Yellow Barn Gallery.
