Submitting final texts for this year’s Community Arts Convening

The Final Text due date has been extended for text authors to next Thursday, March 26th.

The following is the process for submitting final texts for this year’s Community Arts Convening:

  • The Final Text due date has been extended for text authors to next Thursday, March 26th.
  • Texts must reflect a natural extension and/or elaboration of the ideas, topics and issues articulated in the preliminary 2-5 page texts.
  • Texts may be expanded (at the discretion of the author) to a length that best supports your intentions -- but no more than 5,000 words.
  • Texts are to be submitted digitally as a virus-free attachment via the Second-Round Article Submission Form in MS Word format, 12 pt. Times Roman type with pages numbered.
  • Please consider subheads to divide your story.
  • Text only for this round – no images.

If photos, video, or audio files are important to your presentation, please provide URL links to YouTube, Google or some other20display on the Internet or your own site.

Please do not format your text or add special type headings or body-text styles or graphics. Do not add color or embed photos, charts or illustrations.

Authors are not be asked to adhere to a specific style guide; however academic authors may choose to use MLA, APA, as appropriate to their discipline. In the interest of copyright and intellectual property, at minimum all articles should include the following:

  • Appropriately cite any references to other authors, publications, or performances, and should include author s last name, and date, and for direct quotes, include the page numbers in parentheses directly following the quote or reference.
  • Bibliography/references should be included at the end of each article.
  • Publications, authors, or performances referenced in the text should be listed in alphabetical order by author’s name, include the title of the publication or performance, the publication date, and publisher. In the case of web references the full website, and the date accessed should be included in the bibliography.
  • Previously published texts will not be accepted.
  • Texts are to be in English.
