MICA Publishes One-of-a-Kind International Community Arts Research Journal

In this year's journal, emphasis was placed on the historical aspect of organizations and collectives, from several regions around the world, working on projects in community arts settings.

  2. Community Arts Convening and Research Project

The project is guided by the vision that community-grounded arts and culture enhance the well-being, development, empowerment, and voice of disenfranchised communities.

  3. Launching Community Arts Perspectives, Volume II

Volume II of this publication is composed of 32 texts reviewed and selected by editor Amalia Mesa-Bains and the national editorial board of the project. These texts formed the basis for the topics examined at the project's second convening, which took place at Cal State Monterey Bay in April 2009.
