The Hyatt Regency Monterey will provide accommodations to our group at a greatly reduced rate:

Standard Rates Convening Group Rates

Single/Double Occupancy: $ 275.00 $ 110.00
Triple Occupancy: $ 290.00 $ 125.00
Quadruple Occupancy: $ 305.00 $ 140.00

The deadline for booking your room at this greatly reduced rate is March 19, 2009.

The Convening's special GUEST ROOM RATES does NOT include applicable state and local taxes (which are currently 10%), State of California Tourism Assessment (currently $.15 per room night), and applicable service or hotel specific fees in effect at the Hotel at the time of the meeting.

Based on room availability, the Hyatt's group rate for the Convening is also available for the two (2) days prior to the convening and two days after the Convening.

The 2009 Convening dates are April 19, 20, and 21 (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday).

All Convening attendees are responsible for securing their own transportation to and from the hotel and airport.

ALL convening participants and attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and for paying for their accommodations.

Important: When making reservations with Hyatt Hotel representatives state that you are to receive the group rate via: MARYLAND INSTITUTE COLLEGE OF ART and California State University Monterey Bay.

The special rate will NOT apply if you reserve your room with the Hyatt online. It is imperative that the room be reserved and secured by telephone ((831) 372-1234 or 800-233-1234) no later than March 19, 2009 to receive the discount rate.

We suggest that you make and secure your reservations ASAP.

Individuals/guests of the Hyatt Regency Monterey pay room, tax, resort services program and incidental charges. A deposit of the first night's room and tax for each of the confirmed rooms will be due from individuals attending the meeting/event 14 days after room is confirmed by the Hotel but no later than the cut-off date specified above. All deposits for individual room reservations are fully refundable if a room is canceled two (2) days or more prior to the arrival date. Personal checks, money orders or a valid American Express, Diners Club, Visa or MasterCard number and expiration date will be needed for the deposit.

Helpful Hints

• The Hyatt Regency Hotel's discount rate is per room. There is great savings by rooming together.
• If you are using air transportation, we suggest that you fly into San Jose International Airport. If you fly into Los Angeles you would have to take a commuter plane to the Monterey Airport. Ground transportation from San Francisco to Monterey could be expensive.
• If you fly into San Jose you have options of renting a car or taking public transportation from the airport to Monterey.
• Google Maps are able to provide driving instructions from the San Jose Airport to the Hyatt Regency Monterey AND instructions for securing public transportation from the San Jose Airport to Monterey.
• Limited transportation is provided by the convening from the Hyatt to/from CSUMB's campus.
• Transportation from/to an airport or bus terminal to/from the Hyatt is NOT provided by the convening.
• The convening's onsite registration process (for those who have not already registered) will take place on the CSUMB campus on Sunday afternoon, April 19th.
• The convening is scheduled to end around 5pm on Tuesday, April 21st.
• The convening's complete agenda will be posted online in approximately 10 working days.
