Rita Crocker ’06 will use her Fulbright scholarship to Colombia in the field of painting to examine Paisa culture, a distinctive group in Colombia, so she can illuminate the depth and complexity of Colombian regional identity to a larger international audience. Crocker will engage with the northwestern Andean community of Antioquia to compile an archive of regional art and architecture while directing and making her own studio work.

MICA has a strong track record of Fulbright success. The Chronicle of Higher Education has ranked MICA a top three producer of Fulbright students among art and design colleges for the past five years. The College’s Career Development Center employs a counselor who works intensively with students on Fulbright applications.
