Sarah Robbins

Illustration

Class of 2013

After completing her degree in May of 2013, Sarah Robbins wasted little time diving in to start Bone Black Press, a new boutique letter press studio within Baltimore, MD. With a degree in Illustration, she also graduated with concentrations in Printmaking and Book Arts. Growing up in a small suburb of Dallas she had never been exposed to these forms of art until MICA, and utilizing an eye for illustration and design soon became obsessed with making prints and editions of artists books.

"I'm the kind of person who just can't stand still. I always have to be running in one direction or another toward a goal. It felt natural to find a press, fix it up, and begin making work again as if I'd never left the Dolphin building. I want my business to stand out, and I think having an illustration background does give me a different edge than many printmakers who often come from graphic design or fine art backgrounds."

Her work has been included in shows by Light Grey Art Lab and juried exhibits for the MICA printmaking department.
