"My work focuses on the synthesis of the natural world with interior spaces." 

Katie Vota '11 (fiber) has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for the 2011-12 year to study in Cusco, Peru in the field of design. Vota will work with the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, utilizing its resources to learn from villages of artisans practicing traditional Andean methods of weaving and natural dying. She will also help the weavers and dyers of the region market their products so they are better able to preserve these traditions through the usage and passing on of knowledge.
