The video and film arts department offers both a major and studio concentration, creating a community of artists exploring installation, documentary, narrative, and experimental genres within the dynamic creative environment of one of the nation’s top art colleges.     Junior De'Von Brown Highlighted for Achievements Post "Boys of Baraka"

    "The Boys of Baraka," a documentary made about the program, offered Brown the opportunity to make contacts in the industry as well as meet Maryland first lady Katie O'Malley, who helped him reach out to young offenders.

    Sabbatical Exhibition Showcases Professors' Off-Campus Work, Aug. 26-Sept. 12

    The Sabbatical Exhibition, in Fox Building's Decker Gallery, presents the work of faculty members who took a semester away from MICA during the 2009/10 academic year to explore new themes, develop old ones, or collaborate with other artists and designers.

    Washington Post Features 'Artful Activism' by Alumni Group, Faculty Member

    The Washington Post features MICA alumni group Baltimore Development Cooperative (BDC), which stimulates community formation and social change through the group's Stew dinners. MICA faculty member Hugh Pocock is also highlighted for his sustainability classes, inspired by BDC.
