Certificate in Jewelry

The Jewelry certificate provides a thorough foundation in traditional and contemporary jewelry making. Students learn how to produce one-of-a-kind art objects as well as production jewelry.

Students with little or no background in jewelry making can enter the program, as well as those looking to upgrade their skills. The certificate is awarded after completion of 26 credits (12 credits of required Foundation-level courses, 4 credits of advanced-level courses and 10 credits of electives) taken through the School for Professional and Continuing Studies program. All courses must be taken for a letter grade. Students must complete the total number of required credits at MICA to be awarded a MICA certificate. Students must complete the previous certificate option or have the equivalent experience to enter into the next certificate option.
