MICA administers the most expansive offerings for international & off-campus study of any U.S. art college, open to undergraduate and graduate students and life-long learners at least 18 years of age who have completed at least one year of college study. Serious students travel with MICA faculty to places of great aesthetic & historical resonance and to the centers of contemporary art and design to earn undergraduate- or graduate-level college credit, enhance their art-making, and connect with art and other artists through MICA's Summer Travel Intensives.

Esteli & Limay, Nicaragua: Community Arts (General Fine Arts) or Documentary Video (3 credits)*

*Students can choose to enroll in art history for an additional 3 credits
Archaeological Restoration, Conservation & Art History in Italy
This month-long program offers 6 credits (3 studio credits in general fine arts and 3 credits in art history). The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students (rising sophomores to second-year graduate students), and to lifelong learners, 18 years of age or older, who have completed at least one year of college study. All students must have a current, valid passport for travel and a current, valid visa for study in Italy for the program's duration. This program is in partnership with Studio Art Centers International (SACI) Florence.
Turkey: Where East Meets West
This three-week program offers 3 studio credits in fiber (or 3D studio elective), with an optional 3 credits in art history - classes may be taken for undergraduate and graduate credit or audit. The program is open to undergraduate or graduate students (rising sophomores to second-year graduate students), and to lifelong learners, 18 years of age or older, who have completed at least one year of college study. All students must have a current, valid passport for travel.
New York Summer Intensive: New York, New York
This month-long, 3-credit intensive studio residency program is open to current students (rising sophomores to 2nd year graduate students) at AICAD and NASAD colleges and universities. Students live as practicing artists, using New York City as a subject and the art world as a tool for discovery.
Sorrento Summer: Experiencing Southern Italy through Painting and Drawing
This intensive, four-week program offers 3 studio credits in painting, with an optional 3 credits in art history—classes may be taken for undergraduate and graduate credit or audit. The program focuses on interpreting the landscape and townscape of southern Italy through painting and drawing, while simultaneously integrating the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the area into a meaningful Italian experience.
Cultural Exchange & Collaboration in Esteli & Limay, Nicaragua
This month-long program offers 3 studio credits in either community arts (general fine arts) or video, with an optional 3 credits in art history—classes may be taken for undergraduate and graduate credit or audit. Innovation, social justice, and adventure thrive in the MICA in Nicaragua program. Here students interested in community arts and in documentary video come together to collaborate with Nicaraguan artists.
Soul of Seoul: A Cultural Adventure in Dynamic Korea
This month-long residency in Seoul offers 3 studio credits in interdisciplinary sculpture, with an optional 3 credits in art history—classes may be taken for undergraduate and graduate credit or audit. Students and faculty investigate the unique and vibrant city of Seoul through group excursions and then return to the studio to create work that is filtered through these new experiences.
