Undergraduate Orientation To-Do List

To help you get started with your transition to MICA, we have created a To-Do List with important action items and tasks for you to complete before you start classes in late August.

ASAP Schedule an appointment with your primary care provider to complete your Health History Form. After this is completed, mail it, along with your immunization record to Student Affairs. For more information on these documents, click here.
ASAP Submit final high school transcript to Undergraduate Admissions.
ASAP Submit final college transcripts and artwork to satisfy any pending credits to Undergraduate Admissions.
July/August Explore MyMICA, which will be the means you receive news as well as access your information such as class schedule and tuition bill. Class schedules are not definite until orientation!
July/August Learn about Getting Involved at MICA and complete the Involvement Survey at to get more information about these opportunities!
July/August Request disability support services with the Learning Resource Center at 410-225-2416 or via email at
July/August Register for Emergency Text Messaging by visiting, signing in (at the top right) & visiting Personal Information > Emergency Notification Info.
7/5 Book your travel arrangements, plane tickets, car rental, U-haul truck rentals, etc...if needed.
7/15 Submit any outstanding College Board AP scores to Undergraduate Admissions.
7/26 Visit the Residence Life website and read about their facilities and floor plans.
8/1 Fall 2014 tuition payment due. You can go online to make payment by credit card or personal check, or you can mail check payment to the college. Please review payment policies by checking out the Student Accounts website.
  If you are on a 529 Plan or State-Sponsored Tuition Savings Plan, please make sure that the program has all the appropriate MICA contact information so funds can be readily forwarded to the College. Additional information about the administration of these plans can be viewed on the Student Accounts website.
  It's not too late to sign up for Sallie Mae's monthly pay plan, Tuition Pay! You can sign up online or call toll free 1-800-635-0120.
8/15 Send your headshot picture for your MICARD (MICA student ID) to Make sure the image is PORTRAIT and no bigger than 640x480. Also, be sure to also include: 
1) your full name
2) "undergraduate"
3) where you will be living (i.e., Founders Green, Meyerhoff House, Gateway or Off-Campus)
4) your date of birth
  Contact your new apartment and roommates (if applicable). Review the What to Bring sheet and go shopping; see what your apartment/roommates are bringing so you don't double items in the apartment by accident (if applicable).
8/19 Art Safety Bags are designed as a starter kit for your foundation year. Safe working practices are an import part of art making and a priority at MICA. The bags are a required supply for all freshman and transfers taking foundation level classes. The bags are available for purchase online and at the college store, however the physical bags should be picked at the 15/15 building during the first weeks of school. Please hold onto your receipt! 9/5 Last day to change your meal plan.*Freshmen living on-campus are required to have the 150 or 200 Meal Plan.
9/30 Last day to waive participation in the MICA-sponsored health insurance. All students are required to have health insurance before they arrive on campus. If you do not have a comparable, private coverage, then you must purchase the college-sponsored plan for $1,618/year.
