The Baltimore Sun article, Art Meets Technology, examines the increasing trend of combining technology with artmaking. The Sun writes, "With students pursuing work in areas ranging from interactive installations to game design, mobile technology and social networking, technology, it seems, is everywhere at MICA. 'It's not just a blurring of boundaries between disciplines,' notes Ray Allen, vice president for academic affairs and provost. 'There is also a distinct blurring of boundaries between art and entertainment.'"
Examples cited include work in the Illustration, Interaction Design & Art and Fiber departments. James Rouvelle, chair of the Interaction Design & Art Department, and recently graduated alumnus Anthony Mattox were also interviewed for the piece.
