Graduate student, Davin Watne '13 (MFAST) is a painter and installation artist entering his final year of the MFA in Studio Art (MFAST) program at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).  Since beginning the program in 2010, he has gained significant insight about the low-residency/summer MFA program and what it has to offer to contemporary artists. An undergraduate alum of the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI), he took the opportunity to share these experiences and offer advice on the KCAI Career Services Case Study Blog. In his article, he goes into great detail about the facilities at MICA, the "Critical Studies Seminar," the professional practice and technology workshops, the MFAST mentors and the extensive list of visiting artists.
