MICA Designers Create Pro Bono Ad Campaign for Nonprofit

Grant awarded to PIECE Studio leads to collaboration with MICA’s Center for Design Practice to create volunteer recruitment campaign for Alabama equal housing advocate HERO

Posted 10.19.09

PIECE Studio, founded by MICA faculty Mike Weikert, former professor Bernard Canniffe and alumnus Oliver Munday, was awarded a grant that enabled them to work with students from MICA's Center for Design Practice (CDP) to design an ad campaign to recruit volunteers for the Alabama community organization HERO: Housing Resource Center. The group flew to Alabama to meet with HERO staff and the community members they serve. This trip informed the innovative print and poster campaign this team of designers created.
