WASHINGTON--Works of art by nine May graduates of Maryland Institute College of Art are featured in "ACADEMY 2008," Conner Contemporary Art's annual invitational survey that opens July 11 at Taurus Development in Washington, D.C.

The exhibition, now in its eighth year, is dedicated to outstanding painting, video, sculpture and photography by recent fine art graduates of college art programs in the mid-Atlantic region.

MICA graduates Jamie Andrew (BFA, painting), Andrew Buckland (MFA, Photography & Digital Painting), Andrea Chung (MFA, Mount Royal School of Art), Nathaniel Fink (BFA, photography), Ryan Foti (BFA, painting), Wayde McIntosh (BFA, painting), James Swainbank (BFA, painting), Virginia Warwick (MFA, Rinehart School of Sculpture) and Aleksander Zhikulin (BFA, general sculptural studies) all have work in the show.

"ACADEMY 2008" is on view July 11-26 at Taurus Development, 1341 H St., NE. Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. A reception with the artists takes place July 11, 6-8 p.m.
