FabLab DC is holding an exhibition called Block by Block: Transformation where the Freespace Collective will exhibit an outdoor interactive projection project called Space over Time which puts live cameras and videos from public spaces around the world in a mash-up. November 6th, 4-8pm

Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography will present Freespace Collective: The 360 Project.

22nd Drawing Show Residue :  On view through November 27, Mills Gallery, Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremond St., Boston

MICA Connection: Billy Friebele (MFAST Alum, Class of 2009)

Since 1979, this juried exhibition has allowed the Boston Center for the Arts to work with more than 500 artists and over 20 guest curators from across the country. This year, 16 artists were selected who work with the idea of Residue, traces and suggestions left behind both in their concepts and process.

2011 Factory Installed:

Six international artists, including Natalia Gonzalez from Bolivia, were chosen from 600 artist-submitted portfolios to work in residence at the Mattress Factory in September and October to create works for the exhibition Factory Installed.

Memoria (Memory): On view through March 25, 2012, Hyde Park Art Center, 5020 South Cornell Avenue, Chicago

A major series of new paintings by Puerto Rican/Chicago-based artist Bibiana Suarez that reveals the shifting nature of memory, place, and identity, particularly within the latino community.

In Between:  On view through December 3rd, 2011, Artist Talk on November 5th 6-7pm, Opening 7-9pm, Hamiltonian Gallery, 1353 U Street NW, Washington D.C.
MICA Connection:  Elena Volkova (MFAST Alum, Class of 2007)
In her newest series, Volkova explores drawing as a process of perception by pushing the conceptual boundaries of the medium off of the paper, and into the realm of space itself.
