"Jeune Création"
November 4–11
Centquatre, Paris
MICA connection: Fritz Horstman (MFAST '11)
Opened: Saturday, November 3, 6:00 p.m.
The never-before-seen projects of 60 young artists from all over the world will be on view in a bold, innovative and experimental artistic program. This space is ideal for artistic exchanges and encounters, and will feature a selection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, videos, installations, and performances by 53 emerging artists chosen from over 2,000 applicants.
This year will be marked by the creation of a third prize to the former Prix Jeune Création and Prix Boesner: the Prix Résidence, which will give an artist the opportunity to work for two months in the prestigious Josef & Anni Albers Foundation in the U.S.
As stated in the press release, "Both experimentation zone and laboratory, the dynamic and multidisciplinary Jeune Création will reveal the singular universes of soon-to-be-discovered artists."
