Daydreams & Nightmares, an aerial theater company focused on bringing traditional circus work to a new audience, performs Look Up, a retelling of the story of the Fall of Icarus, Friday, March 6, 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 7, 8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 8, 3 p.m. in MICA's BBOX performance space in the new Gateway building, 1601 Mount Royal Ave.
With traditional and non-traditional circus apparatus, aerialists will soar overhead in this 75-minute performance piece about what might have happened after Icarus plunged into the ocean to his death. A work with no speaking parts, the show has a soundtrack of high-energy music combined with an ethereal ocean soundscape. It is part dance, part theater, part circus, and part otherworldy experience.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for MICA faculty and staff, and free on March 6 and $5 on March 7-8 for MICA students.
