MICA student Paige Vickers received the prestigious Zankel Scholar Award this year for her work in illustration. The award, made possible by The Society of Illustrators, gives $20,000 to a college junior named the best in their field to support their senior year of study.
Also on the list of 2011 finalists was MICA student Craig Bowers, who received $1,000 toward his studies. Both Bowers and Vickers were honorably nominated by MICA for their passion and goals in illustration.
The Society of Illustrators proudly presents the Zankel Scholar named in memory of Arthur Zankel, whose generous bequest has made this scholarship possible. Zankel was a firm advocate for higher education. This is the third year the Society has been honored to seek, in his name, the best of the junior class and to financially support his or her senior year of college.
