Gov. Martin O'Malley recently announced the appointment of Jan Stinchcomb, MICA's vice provost of undergraduate studies and faculty, to the Harford Community College Board of Trustees.

"Our greatest assets are the talents, skills, ingenuity, creativity and education of our people," O'Malley said. "I am confident that Ms. Stinchcomb...will work to ensure that the students of Harford Community College...attain the skills, knowledge and training they need to grow, succeed and to prosper in the New Economy."

Stinchcomb '82 joined MICA in 1986 as a faculty member. Since 2006, Stinchcomb has overseen the comprehensive management and coordination of MICA's undergraduate programs. At the College, she has held the roles of dean of undergraduate studies and faculty, associate dean of academic affairs and foundation chair, as well as taught in the M.F.A. in Studio Art (Summer Low-Residency), fine arts and foundation programs. Stinchcomb holds a M.F.A. from Queens College, City University of New York, a B.F.A. from MICA and an associate's degree from Harford Community College.
