This will enhance the research experience for all who rely on mobile technology -- Library Director Tony White

The Decker Library's most recent investment in technology will make using your own laptop computer even easier in the Library. Eight new ceiling-mounted-retractable extension cords have been added above the study tables on the lower level.
With the popularity of the Laptop Lounge, it was apparent that the Library needed more capacity in study areas that included power outlets so that people could use their laptop computers. Access to power will enhance the library research experience for visitors with portable electronic media such as laptops and mobile devices.
The cords can be pulled down, and positioned to reach all the seats at the study tables. Each plug will accommodate up to three electrical devices at one time. When not in use, the cords can retract to hang well above the tables.
Says Director of Decker Library, Tony White, "This will enhance the research experience for all who rely on mobile technology when using the resources of this library." Since installation last week, the cords have already been used, giving patrons more flexibility about where to work in the library with their laptops and mobile devices.
