The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) Individual Artist Awards has honored 14 MICA alumni and faculty grants through a competitive yet anonymous process designed to promote and uphold their commitment to excellence in artistry.

The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation - Baltimore, Maryland supports the richness and diversity of the region's arts resources and promotes wider access to the art and artists of the region, nation and world. This year, MICA community members are well represented in the Baltimore region with more than 10 award recipients in the area of Visual Arts.

The Individual Artist Awards for Visual Arts and Poetry recipients: Laura Amussen '06 (printmaking), Rodney Carroll '83 (Rinehart School of Sculpture), Katherine Kavanaugh (faculty, foundation), Magnolia Laurie '07 (Mount Royal School of Art), Anthony Edwin Stellaccio '00 (ceramics), Peter Henry Ellis Boyce '09 (fiber), Richard Cleaver '78 (ceramics), Leah Cooper '09 (MFAST), Jae Kuem Ko '98 (Mount Royal School of Art), Christopher Lynn Lavoie '08 (Rinehart School of Sculpture), Ailsa Staub '10 (Rinehart School of Sculpture), Jaime Louise Bennati '08 (graphic design, sculpture) , Brent Crothers '89,'03 (sculpture, Rinehart School of Sculpture) and Justin Sirois '01 (printmaking).
