Building Hours & Facility Locations

MICA’s building hours are determined by a task force of students, faculty, and staff to help assure that services are generally available during peak hours but also that the schedule promotes energy efficiency through responsible and thoughtful scheduling of facilities. Holiday and interim periods will adhere to a separate schedule that will be published and made available to the MICA community. During the final three weeks of the semester, campus buildings will be 24/7 to help students prepare for final assignments/critiques.

Remember, students are required to visibly wear and show their MICA ID for building entry at all times. Students are also required to sign in when entering buildings after 9:00 pm.

Shuttle Service and Colltown Shuttle

The MICA Evening Shuttle Service provides transportation for its passengers within a specified perimeter. This service is provided for both the safety and convenience of the MICA community. The service is free of charge and is available between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. Monday – Friday and 5:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday as long as weather and road conditions permit safe operation.

Similar to last year, the Evening shuttle will continue to service Reservoir Hill and stop at Penn Station. The Reservoir Hill perimeter, like Mount Vernon and Charles Village perimeters, will be drop-off only routes with the exception of Henderson House, 218 Preston and Penn Station. The Bolton Hill perimeter will remain a pick-up and drop-off route. For a complete map of the Evening Shuttle and additional user information, visit http://www.mica.edu/Documents/TransportationParking/shuttle-map-rev-march%202010.pdf.

We are also pleased to announce that MICA will continue to participate in the Baltimore Collegetown Shuttle program again this year! The shuttle is free for all MICA students, faculty and staff (you'll need your MICARD to board), and has stops at MICA near the Commons and the Brown Center, seven days a week. The Baltimore Collegetown Shuttle runs north to Towson Town Center and south to the Inner Harbor, and stops at participating Collegetown colleges: Johns Hopkins, Loyola, College of Notre Dame, Towson University and Goucher College. Please visit the Baltimore Collegetown website for the complete shuttle route and GPS shuttle tracker at http://www.baltimorecollegetown.org/shuttle/. All times are approximate and may be affected by traffic and weather conditions. Riders are recommended to arrive five minutes early. For a wheelchair accessible shuttle, please call 410-337-6166 and give 24 hours notice.

Students, Staff and Faculty are encouraged to PLAN their evening and night activities so they can use the resources of the community to accomplish their study goals and get home safely. For questions or concerns about the Evening Shuttles or the Collegetown Shuttle please contact Transportation Services at 410-225-2340 or Student Activities 410-225-2284.

The City of Baltimore has started a new transportation service called “The Charm City Circulator,” which will provide free buses rides around the city using limited routes, please visit their site for more information at www.charmcitycirculator.com

Dining Hours

There are four dining locations available on MICA’s campus, all offering varying hours of service and diverse selections of food. Meyerhoff House Dining Room serves primarily as MICA's all-you-care-to-eat facility. It contains the best value on campus, with hearty choices for sit-down meals. Cafe Doris, located in the Fox Building, offers sit down dining from morning to night, and a wide choice of combo and carry-out meals, snacks and beverages. The recently expanded Java Corner, on the second floor of the Bunting Center, is the place to get great coffees, bagels, and baked goods. Our fourth location is the Gateway Cafe. The Gateway Cafe offers everything from cold treats and snacks (hand-scooped ice cream, smoothies, baked goods and soups) to carry-out meals (rotisserie chicken, personal pizza, microwavable entrees and sides) and a wide variety of coffees. It is open late-nights throughout the week.

Students, faculty or staff interested in purchasing a meal plan may contact Student Accounts at 410-225-2356.
