Since 1989, Allen Moore, a faculty member of the Video & Film Arts Department at MICA, has served as one of the principal cinematographers on a majority of the films of PBS director Ken Burns. This summer, Moore's camerawork on Burns' 2009 PBS series The National Parks: America's Best Idea was recognized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Hollywood with a nomination in the category of Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming. The National Parks went on to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Nonfiction Series at the 62nd Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony on Aug. 21. For more information on the series, click here.
