Special access to buildings & services provided during finals
This news item contains important information about building hours and services for the last weeks of the fall 2009 semester. Please note that the College will begin its 24/7 building access schedule on Monday, November 30, the first class day after the Thanksgiving Break to provide students the opportunity to focus on final projects and critiques. Remember that Midnight Breakfast is on Thursday, December 10th.
Because we know that students are working around the clock to get ready for crits and finals, all academic buildings except Bunting and Main will offer access 24 hours a day beginning Monday, November 30 and continuing through Saturday morning, December 19th. Bunting and Main will continue with their regular academic year schedule. On Saturday, December 20, buildings will close at 7:00 pm and will be open on Sunday December 21 from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and then remain on a holiday schedule (8:00 am to 7:00 pm, weekdays only beginning Monday December 22) until the beginning of Spring Semester. The weekend of January 15-17, several buildings will be open due to the Art Education low residency programs as well as Spring Orientation for new transfer students and families. All campus buildings will be closed on college holidays (December 24-27, January 1) and most will be closed on weekends. Graduate students, faculty, and staff will have access to the Studio Center/Station 9:00 am to midnight seven days a week, except for the above mentioned campus holidays.
The Shuttle will run extended hours from 5 pm through 7 am beginning Monday, November 30 and continuing through Saturday morning, December 19th. Shuttles will resume on Saturday, January 16, 2010. For more information, contact Shuttle Services at 410-225-2340.
Dining Hours & Residence Halls
Meal hours will remain the same through finals - the last meals in Meyerhoff will be Brunch and Dinner on Saturday, December 19th and a special Brunch on Sunday December 20th. The Meyerhoff Dining Room will be closed through the break, and will reopen beginning with dinner at 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 16th. The Gateway will be open on Friday December 18th until midnight and will close from December 19th through January 17th. It will reopen for regular hours on Monday, January 18th.
Airport Shuttles: A shuttle will be available to take MICA students to BWI airport on a first-come, first-serve basis on Thursday (December 17), Friday (December 18), Saturday (December 19), and Sunday (December 20) at 8 am, 10 am, 12 noon, 2 pm, and 4 pm EXCEPT ON SUNDAY which will only offer shuttles at 8am, 10 am and 12 noon. These shuttles leave from the Commons.
The lab will have regular hours through Friday. Dec. 18. Printing and Checkout will be closed from Saturday Dec. 19 through the new year.
