Anna is a multi-disciplinary artist who experiments with projection, performance, sound, and design. Though she currently lives in Baltimore, she never forgets about her love for neon and rice as a Tokyo city girl.
In this body of work, Anna focuses on the metaphoric aspects of the North Avenue Market--its endurance of the fire that destroyed it and the multiple reformations that have followed since. She juxtaposes this metaphor with those of regeneration and rebirth in nature. Her garments attempt to illustrate the process of emergence and the power of regeneration.
