Five choirs of handbell ringers--300 bells!--will play as individual choirs and as a massed ensemble from all corners of the sanctuary. This promises to be a musical and visual treat for all ages. Tickets: $15 for adults; $5 for students; children 12 and under, free.
The program ranges from Handel's Thanks Be to Thee to a rousing Dixieland arrangement of When the Saints Go Marching In, accompanied by clarinet, trombone and drums. Other ensemble pieces include Prisms by William Payne, Proclamation of Praise by Michael Mazzententa and Triumphant Praise by Karen Buckwalter. Also on the program are congregational hymns which the audience will sing, accompanied by the massed bell choirs, organ, brass and drums.
