Meet at Café Doris in the Fox Building

The Center for Art Education at MICA invites you to an Adventure in Art Family Tour of Warren Seelig:  Textile per se. For 40 years Warren Seelig has explored all kinds of materials: cloth, wood, wire, paper, plastic, rocks and even shadows. He “has insisted on continuously defining and redefining the qualities that are unique to textile and especially to a kind of abstraction rooted in repetitive processes.” This retrospective of Seelig’s work reveals how repeating lines, shapes and spaces can change within different configurations, or from different viewpoints, to reveal new patterns of great energies.

MICA’s BFA/MAT students have designed interactive family tours to engage small groups with several different pieces of Seelig’s work through movement, thematic ideas and activities. Please join us for this unique and limited opportunity by RSVPing to the Center for Art Education at kfaulstich@mica.edu or 410-225-2297 and let us know the number adults and children attending and the ages of the children.

Participants will meet tour leaders at Café Doris in the Fox Building at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, March 6.  Tours begin promptly at 11 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 12:30 p.m. We hope you will stay and explore more galleries at MICA. For maps and directions to MICA please click here.
