MICA Offers Unique Civic Engagement and Graduate Programming in East Baltimore and Beyond
The College is renovating the former St. Wenceslaus School, 814 N. Collington Ave., into a year-round center for community arts and social design programs with apartments. The renovation is scheduled to be completed in mid-September.

MICA Receives $200,000 Grant To Expand Community Arts Program

Kresge Foundation's College/Arts Initiative has awarded MICA a two-year, $200,000 grant to expand the reach of the College's Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) program and to determine a tangible, quantifiable link between community arts activity and the seemingly intangible outcomes of hope, well-being and engagement.

Artscape at MICA: 2010 Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize Semifinalists Exhibition

MICA once again serves as a venue for Artscape, America's largest free public arts festival and organized by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, with an exhibition of work by the semifinalists for the 2010 Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize. Of the 38 semifinalists in this year's highly competitive award, 24 are members of the MICA community.

While working in their summer studios at MICA, the art educators enrolled in the M.A. in Art Education program are challenged to investigate a conceptual issue of deep personal interest, and the thesis exhibition presents the results of these visual investigations.
