Q: What systems or policies does MICA have in place to ensure proper stewardship of its grant-based dollars?
A: MICA has a number of systems and policies in place to ensure proper stewardship of its corporate, foundation, and government donors. The Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations (CFG) Office uses a grants management system that, among other things, ensures timely reporting to donors on the use of grant funds. The CFG Office receives support from each division within Advancement to further its stewardship efforts. Advancement Services maintains an extensive database of donor information that is used to generate gift receipts and pledge reminders; the Office of Stewardship acts as liaison to academic departments and programs, ensuring that they know how to access and properly spend grants awarded to them; and the Annual Fund Office works in tandem with the Communications Office to produce our Annual Report, which recognizes and thanks all MICA donors.
