Among the most selective art colleges in the United States, MICA consistently attracts exceptional students. The College has enrolled more Presidential Scholars in Visual Arts than any other college or university in the country, and is consistently named a top producer of Fulbright Scholars among specialty schools by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
However, too many of the best and brightest students are not able to come because of a lack of financial resources. As tuition costs continue to rise, as more demands are placed on families, and as colleges struggle to adapt to the changing requirements of its students, the need for scholarship support has never been greater.
Scholarships at MICA are awarded based on both merit and financial aid, and support a wide range of areas such as:
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN
Allowing MICA to continue to attract and enroll the best artists and designers.
Recognizing the exceptional achievements of returning students.
Providing access to the College's world renowned graduate programs.
Giving students from around the world the opportunity to attend MICA and allowing MICA students to experience the world around them.
MICA seeks to increase scholarship support to ensure that all students of exceptional talent, regardless of their own financial circumstances, can choose a MICA education. The College welcomes gifts at any level in support of scholarships. All gifts received will be included as part of the Lazarus Legacy Fund Campaign.
Donors have the option of directing their gift to:
The Fred and Jonna Lazarus Endowed Fund for Scholarships, a special scholarship fund recently established by MICA's President Fred Lazarus and his wife Jonna, to greatly expand the College's resources to attract and retain the best and brightest students.
The MICA Scholarship Fund, a general scholarship fund which helps to close the gap each year between tuition and aid for new and returning MICA students.
Donors also have the option of creating a named endowed scholarship which will provide support for many years to come.
Your investment in this area will enable the talented students of today and tomorrow to achieve their dream of a MICA education regardless of their own financial circumstances-paving the way for the future artists and designers who will shape our culture through their work.
