There is an inevitable push and pull humans feel between the way they were raised and the ideas they formulate on their own as adults. The anxiety of trying to figure out what direction to take can be made even more confusing when these two parts of a person are at odds with one another. I use the garments I create as a way to escape the internal thoughts of doubt and fear and as a way to force myself to accept change. Because I believe fashion is art, I view the garments I construct more so as sculptures than ‘just clothing'. I strive to push the limits of what fabric can do and change people's assumptions of what fashion is or is not.
