International artist Carolina Mayorga's work addresses issues of social and political issues, such as migration, war and identity. Her explorations often take form through site-specific installations and multimedia pieces, including video, performance art, photography and drawing. Mayorga, a Colombian-born American citizen, has had exhibitions in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Sweden and numerous cities throughout the United States. Her work is represented in collections, including the Art Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, both in Washington, D.C.; Andres Institute of Art in New Hampshire; and Kronan Sculpture Park in Lulea, Sweden. Mayorga received an M.F.A. in sculpture from the University of Kansas and a B.F.A. in art and textiles in Bogotá.
