This fall, MICA's M.F.A. in Curatorial Practice class of 2015 explores how exchanges between local artists and their neighbors help a community thrive. For LOCALLY SOURCED, five artists based in central Baltimore's Station North Arts and Entertainment District--faculty member Aaron Henkin, Jason Hoylman '07, Nether, Wendel Patrick and Paula Whaley--will showcase newly commissioned works in a variety of media. Through sculpture, sound, photography and painting, these artists will offer different perspectives on the vibrant and interconnected cultural landscape of Station North.

Foundation Exhibition

The Foundation Exhibition offers work by first-year students from the previous academic year. MICA's groundbreaking foundation program introduces all students to the fundamentals of visual arts, giving them a cornerstone upon which they can build their artistic careers. The work in the Foundation Exhibition is always fresh and exciting and provides a glimpse into the future of the art world.

Sabbatical Exhibition

Decker Gallery

This year's Sabbatical Exhibition will showcase the work of faculty members who took a semester away from MICA during the 2013/14 academic year to explore new themes, develop old ones, or collaborate with other artists and designers.

Participating artists include: Alain Corbel (Illustration), Nadia Hironaka (Film and Video), Brockett Horne (Graphic Design), Katie O'Meara (Architectural/Environmental Design), Renee Rendine (General Fine Arts), Olivia Robinson (Fiber), Stacey Salazar (Art Education), Laurie Snyder (Photography), Chezia Thompson Strand (Humanistic Studies) and Susan Waters-Ellers (General Fine Arts).
