Student Designers

At the annual Experimental Fashion Event, artists and designers from the Fiber Department’s Multi Media Event class transform 2640 (St. John’s Church) into a venue for innovative fashion and costume design by pushing the boundaries of fashion and art through live performances and projected video.

Giovanni Flores / Charlemagne Black

Charlemagne Black, along with his sexual nature and bad-boy attitude, brings a mixture of American Folk, Gospel, and Alternative Rock to the stage that is at once soulful and bitingly witty. Inspired by Bowie, this androgynous bombshell puts on quite a show. His spectacular fashions are precisely tailored, hand crafted and made of the most avant garde materials - from resins, to iron, to molded latex, and vinyl. With moves that would make even Elvis blush, he will have you believing you have entered another world where smooth vocals and gritty belts reign supreme.
