ON-CAMPUS RESIDENTS
Students with cars who live in Commons, Meyerhoff House, Mt. Royal Apartments, and Gateway must get a Commons parking permit for $200 per academic year. This parking permit allows residential students to park in the Commons Lot. Students with Commons Permits are not permitted to park on any other campus lot Monday through Saturday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. When you move out of college housing, your Commons parking permit automatically expires.
OFF-CAMPUS RESIDENTS
Most parking in Bolton Hill is restricted to a two-hour time limit, as posted, unless you have an Area 3 Resident Permit. Students who live off-campus in Bolton Hill, or students living in Sutton Place are eligible for an Area 3 Parking Permit. To obtain an Area 3 Resident Parking Permit, you must have a valid student ID, proof of residence (a lease, notarized letter from your landlord, utility bill, etc.), your driver's license, car registration, and tag number.
Please note: If you do not have your own motor vehicle insurance policy, and if the motor vehicle is not registered under your name, you will need a notarized letter from your parents (or whomever has insured the vehicle) with permission to have the car in Baltimore before the city will issue you a parking permit. (You may also have to go to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to get an out-of-state registration permit if your car is not registered in Maryland.) For more information about Residential Parking Permits, contact the Baltimore City Office of Parking Permits, 443-573-2800.
Off-Campus students may obtain a MICA general parking permit for the Mount Royal Station Parking Lot for $120 per academic year, which allows them to park in the Station Lot at any time. After 4:30 pm and on holidays and weekends, students with a general parking permit may also park in the Bunting Lots.
OVERNIGHT PARKING
Overnight parking is only permitted in the Commons Lot for residential students living in College housing. Non-residential students may not park on MICA property overnight, unless they are actually working in an academic building and have signed in with the security guard.
