NYC & Specialty Trips

Student Activities organizes many specialty trips throughout the year primarily to Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and other local attractions. Tickets for the Philadelphia bus trips can be purchased at the MICA College Store, and are available 10 business days prior to each trip. Tickets are non-refundable, but may be independently re-sold to other members of the MICA community. Tickets for Washington D.C. and other specialty events, can be purchased at the Student Activities Office. Visit fyi.mica.edu for more details on upcoming trips!

Faculty Reservation Requests

Faculty who would like to reserve seats for their class for a bus trip to Philadlephia must fill out the Student Activities Bus Reservation Form and return it to Student Activities at least four weeks prior to the trip. Reservations are made on a first come first serve basis. We will hold up to 15 seats for your students until two days before the trip, at which point we make all remaining seats available to the general community for purchase. Due to the high number of reservations, there is a limit of three faculty reservations per trip.

Please note the that the following cancellation policy is in effect: There will be a departmental charge of $100 for cancellations made 30-15 days prior to a trip, and $200 for cancellations made 14-0 days before a trip. This policy is applicable for all three trips. If these procedures do not meet your needs, or if you would like to arrange for a separate bus trip, Student Activities will be happy to put you in touch with our transportation vendor.

Special Trips

There are also a number of specialty trips to the MD State Fair, Six Flags, museums, theaters, outdoor parks, and other places of interest. Many of these trips are free for students, but for some there is a nominal ticket price. Visit the Student Activities Office to learn more about these opportunities or visit fyi.mica.edu.
