NYC & Specialty Trips

Student Activities organizes many weekend trips throughout the year primarily to New York, but also Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. Tickets for the NYC and Philly Trips can be purchased at the MICA College Store, and they are available 10 business days prior to each trip. Tickets are non-refundable, but may be independently re-sold to other members of the MICA community.

Faculty Reservation Requests

Faculty who would like to send a class on a NYC or Philly trip must fill out the Student Activities Bus Reservation Form and return it to Student Activities at least four weeks prior to the trip. Reservations are made on a first come first serve basis. We will hold up to 15 seats for your students until two days before the trip, at which point we make all remaining seats available to the general community for purchase. Due to the high number of reservations, there is a limit of two reservations per faculty, per semester.

Please note the that the following cancellation policy is in effect: There will be a departmental charge of $100 for cancellations made 30-15 days prior to a trip, and $200 for cancellations made 14-0 days before a trip. This policy is applicable for all three trips. If these procedures do not meet your needs, or if you would like to arrange for a separate bus trip, Student Activities will be happy to put you in touch with our transportation vendor.

Special Trips

There are also a number of specialty trips to museums, the Six Flags amusement park, musicals, theater, outdoor parks, rock-climbing, and other places of interest. Many of these trips are free for students, but for some there is a nominal ticket price. Visit the Student Activities Office to learn more about these opportunities or visit fyi.mica.edu.
