Light Rail

The proximity of multiple light rail stations to campus makes it one of the most popular methods of public transit at MICA. The light rail can be a convenient way to visit downtown, go to an Orioles or Ravens game, or run errands in Baltimore County.

Light Rail Stations Closest to MICA

  • Mount Royal/University of Baltimore, located on Mount Royal Avenue across from the MICA store
  • Cultural Center, across the street from Mount Royal Station's southern end at Howard and Preston Streets
  • North Avenue, across the street from Gateway

All light rail stations are equipped with fare boxes. These fare boxes accept cash only and distribute single ride, round trip, and weekly passes. Around the end and beginning of the month the fare boxes also sell monthly passes.

MTA Pass Pricing

  • Single trip: $1.60
  • Round trip: $3.20
  • Day Pass (unlimited rides on bus, light rail, and metro subway): $3.50
  • Weekly Pass: $16.50
  • Monthly Pass: $64.00
