Will my student's faculty members be on campus during Parent & Family Weekend?
There will be many faculty and staff members on campus over the course of the weekend. The best time to talk with faculty members is during the department open house visits on Saturday. However, not all faculty and staff will be on campus. If there is a specific person you would like to meet during Parent & Family Weekend, we strongly recommend that you make an appointment with him or her in advance.
How can I attend one of my student's classes?
Ask your student to speak with their faculty member in advance so he or she knows to expect you as a guest. Due to FERPA regulations, we cannot provide individual student schedules, so it is best to discuss your plans with your student in advance. When you check in, we will also provide you with a list of open classes taking place throughout Friday.
Where can I find student artwork on campus?
There are a number of student exhibitions on campus and artwork displayed in each academic department gallery. Upon arrival, you will receive a list of the Student Space Galleries on campus. All Parent and Family Weekend guests are invited to attend the students' opening receptions, which will occur on Friday evening between 5-8pm. You can also stop by the Raw Art Sale on Sunday and Monday to purchase student artwork.
What does my student know about Parent & Family Weekend?
MICA will send information about the schedule to all students. However, it is important to discuss your visit with your student before the weekend. There may be some sessions they wish to attend, and some that are designed specifically for you.
Where can I find updated information about the Parent & Family Weekend Schedule?
On the MICA website: www.mica.edu/parentsweekend, we offer a variety of resources. This includes Baltimore and travel resources for parents and families. Parents who register for Parent & Family Weekend will receive a final schedule upon checking in on campus.
How can I learn about things to do in Baltimore?

How can we get around Baltimore?
You may choose to rent a car or take a taxi, but there are also a number of public transportation options. Visit the MICA website: www.mica.edu/transportation.
