The MICA Leadership Reception is a celebration of student leadership and campus involvement. Established in 2004, the MICA Leadership Reception is an annual tradition that gives faculty and staff the opportunity to acknowledge all of the hard work and dedication that MICA students have provided the MICA community.
On this night we pay tribute to student involvement in the following areas: Departmental Leaders, Alternative Spring Break Coordinators, Community Arts Program (CAP) Interns, Diversity Intercultural Development (DID) Programming, DID Mentors, Committee Members, Fitness Center Coordinators, Foundation Workshop Leaders, France Merrick Fellow Candidates, Graduate Student Union Leaders, Graduate Teaching Interns, International Conversational Speakers, International Exchange Student Guides, International Orientation Leaders, Orientation Leaders, Peer Career Advisors, Program Managers, Resident Assistants, Senior Advisory Council, Student Hearing Board Panelists, Student Clubs and Organization Officers, Student Voice Association Leadership.
As an invitation-only event, students should feel honored to have the opportunity to be recognized for their involvement. The reception is also a wonderful chance for students to connect with fellow leaders, administrators, and faculty. To invite a student click here. During the ceremony the following awards will be presented: Alumni Award for Student Leadership, Emerging Leader, Outstanding Achievement in Leadership, Student Organization of the Year, Student Program of the Year, and Sidney Lake Award.
This year's MICA Leadership Reception takes place on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in the MICA BBOX from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Light refreshments and dessert will be provided. There will also be a live jazz band performing prior to the awards ceremony.
