Orientation Fee
Entering students are required to pay a one-time Orientation Fee that is used to support the Orientation Program and activities.
Technology Fee
All students at the Maryland Institute College of Art are assessed a mandatory "Technology Fee." MICA's Technology Fee provides partial funding for MICA's overall investment in technology throughout the campus. MICA's technology systems, services and facilities require constant updating and expansion to ensure the college remains technologically competitive in supporting our students' needs. This fee supports our wireless network, smart classrooms, computer labs, classroom software, fiber-optic network, the My MICA portal, AV services, and related technologies that students and faculty need for their education and art making.
Student Life Fee
All students at the Maryland Institute College of Art are assessed a mandatory "Student Life Fee" each semester. The Student Life Fee provides for essential services such as the Evening Shuttle, the Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development including individual counseling appointments and professional development workshops, and Student Programming and Activities. The fee makes numerous student life activities possible for both undergraduate and graduate students by funding clubs, student leadership events and annual campus wide activities. The Student Life Fee also provides routine examinations by medical staff at the Health Services Center and limited student visits to the MICA Counseling Center.
Housing Damage Deposit
A $250 Housing Damage Deposit will be charged at the beginning of the student's first semester residing on campus. Once the student leaves campus housing or graduates, a refund may be requested from Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing, minus any adjustments for room damages or lost keys.
