Transit and Parking

The commute to the Maryland Institute College of Art from MICA PLACE is a short 10 minute drive, a 17 minute bus ride or about two miles walking. The commute to Johns Hopkins University main campus is a short 15 minute drive, a 23 minute bus ride or about 3.5 miles walking. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is conveniently only 5 blocks away.

Parking

MICA PLACE offers plenty of on street parking. The 800 block of North Collington Street is parking by residential permit only from 7am to 7pm. You may obtain a residential parking permit by applying directly to the Baltimore City Parking Authority located at 200 W. Lombard Street. You will need proof of vehicle registration and residency. If you have any questions you can email the Parking Authority office at rpp@bcparking.com or call the main office at (443) 573-2800.

Additionally, residents may rent parking spaces from the St. Wenceslaus Church in the large parking lot located directly behind the building. Parking spaces are $45 per month. If interested, you may call Father Peter Lyons (410) 675-7304.

Public Transportation

Johns Hopkins Metro Station is a short 8 block walk from 814 N. Collington Avenue.  From the Baltimore Metro, MICA PLACE residents can connect to the Light Rail, which connects to the MARC train at Penn Station. The Metro runs through the city from the Johns Hopkins University Hospital to Owings Mills.

814 N. Collington Avenue is within a short walk to the Charm City Cirular Green Line stop at the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Campus. This free shuttle service connects riders throughout the city, destinations include Federal Hill, Fells Point and Mount Vernon.
